On November 27, legendary 90s hip-hop duo Deux released the music video for their new single “Rise,” marking the group’s return with a track featuring AI-restored vocals of the late Kim Sung Jae.
Agency Wide Company announced that the “Rise” music video premiered today at 6 p.m. on the massive outdoor screen at KT’s Gwanghwamun building in Seoul, known as KT Square. Fans from different generations gathered to watch the reveal in real time.
“Rise” includes vocals recreated using artificial intelligence technology, allowing Kim Sung Jae, who passed away in 1995, to appear once again alongside Lee Hyun Do. The agency described the release as a new beginning and emphasized that both members of Deux are returning to the public in the same moment, format, and frame.
This is the first new release from Deux in 28 years. Beginning with the pre-release single “Rise,” the duo plans to release their fourth full-length album next year.
