Singer Son Seung Yeon (Sonnet Son) is making her long-awaited comeback with a new single titled “Wishing for Rain”, set for release on September 15 at 12 PM KST through major online music platforms.
The track, written, composed, and produced by Son herself, reflects on unhealed wounds and lingering memories while looking out at the falling rain. With her trademark soulful vocals layered over a delicate piano arrangement, the song promises to showcase her deep emotions and matured artistry.
Son has already built anticipation with two teaser videos: the first released on September 8 via her official social media channels, and the second on September 13 through YouTube. Both highlight her poignant gaze and the haunting, melancholic mood of the new single.
“Wishing for Rain” marks Son’s first music release in 10 months since “No Sweet Love.” Over the past year, she has remained active through the project group Son I Ji Yu and her performance in the musical 'Memphis', but this new single officially marks her return as a solo artist.
The release carries special meaning, coinciding with Son Seung Yeon’s birthday and arriving just ahead of her 13th debut anniversary next month.
