Inspired by a trainee-era clip the members planned, shot, and edited themselves, the piece has been reimagined in New Zealand with director Bang Jae Yeob.
Every scene runs in reverse, and the narrative jumps out of sequence. On-screen guide cards offer the only clues to chronology as the footage cuts from sprinting to dodge a falling meteor to driving toward an unnamed destination—stitched together with reverse-motion cues, New Zealand’s sweeping vistas, and music that feels brisk yet wistful.
Musically, 'JoyRide' blends the melodic pull of alternative rock with pop accents. All five members share writing and composition credits, underscoring the group’s “young creator crew” ethos. The lyrics evoke a summer of brief freedom against the grind of everyday life, with lines like “The goody-two-shoes me is past tense now” and “I kept running all day.”
