Jessi has announced her return with a nostalgic hip-hop single, "Newsflash".
Centered around the theme of the "news", the rapper's latest track tells off the press using strong, combative lyrics, while also capturing the musician's will to overcome the struggles of the past year and reach for bigger goals. American hip-hop star Jadakiss makes a surprise appearance in the MV, shot in New York City.
"Newsflash" marks Jessi's first music release after the launch of her independent label, UNNI COMPANY. It also signals the musician's return to activities approximately half a year after she was embroiled in a controversy over an assault case involving her acquaintances in December of 2024.
Meanwhile, Jessi is also looking to reach global audiences with her music this year, having signed a distribution deal with American company BMG.
