Singer/TV personality Kim Jong Min appeared as a guest on the May 12 episode of MBC's 'Radio Star', where he once again filled the recording set with laughter thanks to his happy-go-lucky character!
On this day, MC Kim Guk Jin asked Kim Jong Min, "When people call you a 'babo' (translated as 'dummy'), how does that feel?" Kim Jong Min answered, "I like it. I mean, I'm not that offended by it. People look at me and say, 'It's the dummy!' and I just go, 'Yes, hello.'"
To this, MC Kim Gu Ra wondered, "On TV, you are introduced as a 'dummy' for the sake of your character or for laughs, but do people really call you that out on the streets?" Both Kim Jong Min and his fellow guest Jung Jun Ha immediately chimed, "Yes, a lot!"
Kim Jong Min shared, "If I go to a public rest area, people will recognize me and say, 'Hey, it's the 'dummy'!' But I don't mind it that much."
However, according to MC Yoo Se Yoon, Kim Jong Min once said in a past broadcast that his ideal type woman was "a woman who does not disregard me." Kim Jong Min explained, "I mean, I think if the woman that I loved disregarded me and found me 'dumb', that would not be okay."
He then declared, "In truth, I feel that the word 'dummy' is cute and is fine. But there is one word that I do not like. I do not like being called 'stupid'. If I were out in public with my future wife and child, and someone came up to me and said, 'Hey, stupid!', the sound of it is totally different."
Finally, Kim Jong Min added on, "Hearing 'dummy' is fine, it's a cute term. But I hope that people will refrain from calling me 'stupid'."
