Korean-American singer-songwriter Sobae has begun her creative journey to write her next song, and is inviting her viewers to participate by broadcasting the entire process via Youtube.
“Sobae’s Balls”, a web show releasing every Thursday through the channel of her label ILZO & CO., promises to give viewers an intimate behind the scenes experience as the charming homegirl invites viewers to share their stories in hopes to inspire her beat, melody, lyrics, and other aspects of her songwriting.
The bouncy editing style and meme-worthy humor further enhances the show's addictiveness, while the mixture of English language with a Korean Variety Show aesthetic definitely creates a cultural hybrid that we didn't know we needed more of until now.
Debuting a little less than a year ago, Sobae has positioned herself as an artist on the rise through the release of her singles “Switch Up”, “Homegirl” and “Holiday”, and has recently returned from a 20-city US Tour with rappers San E and Mad Clown.
The journey of “Sobae’s Balls” promises to conclude with the release of Sobae’s next single and music video. Let's keep an eye out for our Asian Homegirl to see if she pulls through!
