In a heartwarming story from Busan, South Korea, a foreign exchange student who lost her tuition money the day before the payment deadline was able to recover the entire sum just hours later, thanks to the honesty of a local citizen.

The incident unfolded earlier this week when two international students anxiously walked into the Daeyeon Police Station. Nervous and struggling with the language barrier, one student used a smartphone translator to explain that she had lost an envelope containing her tuition fee, 1.13 million KRW (about 815 USD), which she had worked hard to save.

Police officer Kang Seung Hyun recalled the students' distress, saying, "She couldn't speak Korean well, so she hesitated at the entrance, almost in tears. She didn't know what to do and was clearly panicking."

Roughly five hours after the report was filed, a woman in her 60s arrived at the station. She carefully pulled an envelope from her bag, which was the one the student had lost, still containing the full amount of money. She explained that she had found it on her way to work and, after finishing her shift, went directly to the police station to hand it in.

The student broke into tears when she saw the money after rushing back to the station. The student cried and eventually hugged the woman who had saved her from a potentially devastating situation.

The student from Sri Lanka expressed her gratitude and explained, "That lady was a complete stranger to me, but I've never felt so happy and thankful. I didn't know there were people like her in this world."

The good Samaritan, identified as Jung Soon Ja, explained, "Someone must have been heartbroken to lose such money. I thought if I turned it in after work, the police could return it to the person. Anyone would have done the same. Still, it feels good to know I helped."
