Body of Sewol Ferry victim found 195 days after the incident

On April 16, an unimaginable tragedy struck Korea when the Sewol Ferry�sank and took hundreds of lives down with it. 195 days later, the tragedy is still in the collective consciousness of many as prosecution recently called for the death sentence of the Sewol Ferry captain and even more recently, a body was found in the wreckage of the sunken ship.

On October 28, a victim's body was discovered in the women's bathroom on the fourth floor, a location that had been difficult to search previously. The body's identity has yet to be confirmed. While some reports state that the victim is female, others assert that even the body's gender remains unclear.

Although there had been an ongoing debate whether or not to continue the underwater search for the missing victims as it has been 102 days since the last body was found, with this recent discovery, Sewol families have voted that the search should persist. However, with winter coming soon, many are concerned whether the underwater search can continue for long.�

To this date, nine victims are still missing with 295 confirmed to be dead.
