Fans were upset to hear that TWICE's Momo had to remove a healthy tooth due to severe pain.
Recently, Momo wrote to her fans via Bubble,
"Once, I had to remove a tooth suddenly in Chicago.
The left side of my face is still really swollen today...
So please understand even if I look super puffy on stage.
My tooth started hurting unbearably during the Chicago show, to the point that I couldn't even sleep that night.
So in the morning, I went to a dentist in Chicago.
It was a tooth where I'd been treated before, but it got worse.
If I want to treat it again, I need to do it in Korea, but even when I do go back in a little over a week, there won't be any time to receive extended treatment...
It hurt so bad that I just didn't think I could endure with pain killers alone until our flight back TT
So I just had to remove it..
It actually wasn't bad enough that I had to remove the tooth completely but..
I can't go to Korea right now, and it requires treatment in the nerves that can't be done in just a day so there's no time, and I need to perform.
So I thought about it at the dentist, and in the end, I asked to pull it TT."
When a fan responded, "Are you going to get an implant?" Momo said, "I'll get an implant. But I don't think I can get that done until after the Europe tour."
Momo's unfortunate story is reminding fans once again just how tightly-packed TWICE's tour schedule is this spring, leaving the members no time to rest, recuperate, or even take some time to address emergency health issues.
Fans expressed their frustration over the girl group's "murderous schedules" and commented,
"Momo, you shouldn't have pulled a perfectly healthy tooth TT."
"Why couldn't she just sit out a few of the tour stops to get it treated? Once you pull good, healthy teeth, it'll never be the same.."
"JYP don't you have any money?? This is pressure and abuse from the workplace!!"
"Why is the tour more important than a person's health?? This is so ridiculous."
"This makes me so upset. She had every right to ask for an absence from the tour."
"So many of the members are sick or having severe health problems. What is the company doing??"
"Also what kind of dentist agrees to pull a perfectly good tooth just like that??"
"I don't understand why JYP is treating TWICE like some rookies on a slave contract."
"Honestly this is totally a violation of rights in the workplace. She shouldn't be forced to give up her healthy teeth because of the pressure to continue performing no matter what."
"OMG get the girls out of this inhumane company TT."
Meanwhile, TWICE will continue the U.S. and Japan legs of their ongoing world tour 'This Is For' throughout April before embarking on the Europe leg from May through early June.
