According to a report published by The Fact on April 10, members of EXO-CBX (Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin) are reported to have sent a formal certificate of content to INB100 chairman Cha Ga Won at the end of March, requesting clarification regarding unpaid settlements and alleged breaches of contract, while also notifying the company of their intent to terminate their exclusive contracts.
The report states that the artists requested a response within a two-week period. However, no response deemed satisfactory has been received to date. INB100 was originally established by Baekhyun during his preparations to leave SM Entertainment. In May 2024, the company was incorporated as a subsidiary under One Hundred Label, founded by Cha Ga Won in partnership with MC Mong. Cha Ga Won subsequently became the largest shareholder and has since overseen One Hundred Label alongside Big Planet Made and INB100.
The report further alleges that despite securing substantial advance payments through intellectual property based contracts involving EXO-CBX, the company has entered a state of complete capital impairment. It is also claimed that unpaid settlements owed to the artists amount to tens of billions of Korean KRW. In addition, payments to partner companies and staff are reportedly in arrears, resulting in disruptions to normal business operations for EXO-CBX.
In response, a representative of Cha Ga Won stated to The Fact that the company is currently working toward stabilisation and will seek resolution through additional investment or personal funding if necessary.
Separately, several artists reportedly affiliated with Cha Ga Won’s business network have also issued notices of contract termination, including The Boyz, Taemin, Lim Chang Jung, VIVIZ, Lee Seung Gi, BE'O, and Lee Mu jin, according to industry sources.
Cha Ga Won is also reportedly facing three fraud related complaints. The allegations state that while contracts were signed using IP linked to affiliated artists and significant advance payments were received, the corresponding business activities were not properly executed. Police are currently consolidating the cases for ongoing investigation.
