The new boy group IDID, formed through Starship Entertainment’s large scale project ‘Debut’s Plan,’ is drawing global fans’ curiosity with content that blends elements of the past and present.
On March 3 KST, IDID released short videos through their official channels featuring members transformed into “Confucian scholars.” The clips included a special ‘NALDID’ concept short titled ‘Yusaeng IDID’ along with ASMR mukbang content designed to stimulate viewers’ senses.
The ‘NALDID’ shorts creatively revealed IDID’s “identification photos,” featuring members dressed in traditional clothing reminiscent of Joseon era scholars. In the video, dragging a “TIME” icon over the word “IDID” displayed in the center of the screen transforms it into “N@LD!D,” revealing the members’ scholar themed versions along with the group’s official mascot DODO, adding an intriguing twist.
Last month, IDID had already sparked fans’ curiosity by previewing their self produced content ‘NALDID.’ The teaser, titled ‘DODO News,’ was filmed from the perspective of the mascot DODO and showed members wearing traditional scholar attire, including the yugun headpiece, jeogori, pants and dopo, while filming in a traditional Korean house. Anticipation is growing for the first full episode of ‘NALDID,’ which will be released on March 5.
The group also stimulated viewers’ senses through an ASMR video featuring Kim Minjae, Chu Yuchan and Park Sunghyun. In the clip, the members introduced various convenience store snacks they purchased in Japan, carefully presenting them for their official fan club WITHID while attempting to focus on audio details. However, they soon realized the challenges of filming ASMR with multiple people.
In a humorous moment, Chu Yuchan promised that next time he would film a solo “ChuChu PokPok” content video and jokingly asked fans to help the clip reach 10,000 likes, showing the enthusiasm of a “beginner YouTuber.”
Launched by the renowned label Starship Entertainment, the seven member group IDID debuted last September after gaining recognition for their skills in dance, vocals, charm and fan communication. With their debut album ‘I Did It.’ and digital single ‘Push Back,’ the group appeared at numerous award ceremonies and year end music festivals, establishing themselves as rising rookies to watch in 2026.
The group’s self produced content series ‘NALDID,’ which promises to showcase the “raw and authentic side of IDID” with an MZ generation sensibility, will premiere on March 5 at 9 PM through the IDID YouTube channel.
