Actor Jung Hae In has unexpectedly become embroiled in controversy over footage captured at an overseas fashion show.
Back on January 17, Jung Hae In attended the Dolce & Gabbana fashion show held in Milan, Italy. Wearing the brand’s outfit, he watched the show and received strong interest from local media before and after the event, standing out with a polished look that paired a white suit with a silk shirt.
However, an unexpected controversy arose after a video filmed inside the fashion show recently spread online.
The footage shows Jung Hae In seated between two other men dressed in similar styles. Unlike those next to him, who sat with their legs spread, Jung Hae In remained seated with his legs together, appearing tightly positioned without enough space to properly stretch his legs, which netizens regarded as looking 'somewhat uncomfortable.'
In particular, the situation drew attention when the two men were seen talking across Jung Hae In or allegedly acting without acknowledging his presence. In the video, Jung Hae In appeared uneasy, chewing gum and openly staring at the two men, yet the situation continued.
Some netizens responded with comments such as “Clearly rude,” even speculating about a potential “Lack of consideration toward an Asian person based on race," and "Ignoring an Asian star at an official event,"

Additionally, it was revealed that the fashion magazine GQ tagged the accounts of other attendees on its official social media but left out Jung Hae In’s account, leading to accusations of 'intentional exclusion.'
On the other hand, other voices urged caution, saying, “It is hard to conclude racism based only on seat arrangement or a brief moment,” and “It may be a misunderstanding in the free spirited atmosphere typical of fashion shows,” warning against excessive interpretation.
As the video spreads, various interpretations continue to emerge online, and the incident Jung Hae In experienced at an overseas event continues to fuel heated debate across online communities and social media.
