Rising artist ZO ZAZZ, now in his second year since debut, surprised fans by revealing his close friendship with BLACKPINK’s Jennie during a recent behind-the-scenes video.
On February 4, a video titled “What Happened at ZO ZAZZ’s First Golden Disc Awards” was uploaded to ZO ZAZZ’s YouTube channel. In the video, ZO ZAZZ shared his excitement and nervousness as he headed to the 40th Golden Disc Awards, marking his first appearance at an overseas awards ceremony. He revealed that he had been nominated for both Rookie of the Year and Digital Song Award, joking that he was likely the oldest nominee among a star-studded lineup.

Zo revealed that his biggest concern wasn’t performing on stage, but interviewing Jennie backstage. “I might need to take four anxiety pills,” he joked, expressing how nervous he felt about the task.
The awards ceremony took place on January 10 at Taipei Dome, where ZO met Jennie during rehearsals. To viewers’ surprise, the two showed natural chemistry, confirming that they are long-time friends. Jennie commented warmly, saying, “You look good with this style,” while also jokingly adding, “I’m not very good at things like this — I probably won’t be much help.”
During the interview, ZO ZAZZ introduced himself as a second-year artist, prompting Jennie to respond with a smile, “I’m in my 11th year since debut.” She added, “It feels new meeting like this, all dressed up.”
ZO ZAZZ explained that although they are close friends, he chose to address Jennie formally since their friendship is not widely known. Jennie playfully agreed, asking him to continue being polite. After the interview, the two exchanged words of encouragement and posed for commemorative photos, showcasing their genuine friendship and relaxed chemistry.
The unexpected interaction gave fans a fresh glimpse into Jennie’s off-stage personality and highlighted ZO ZAZZ’s growing presence in the music industry.
