When Music Became Space, And Space Became A Statement
BLACKPINK has partnered with the National Museum of Korea and Spotify to bring a special event from February 26 to March 8. For the duration of the event, the National Museum of Korea will be lit up pink to celebrate BLACKPINK's 'Deadline' comeback, and a special album listening session will be open to Spotify Premium users inside the museum.
Allkpop had the opportunity to attend the pre-listening session on opening day. Reporter Cue Choi visited the National Museum of Korea for an advanced listening of BLACKPINK’s album ahead of its official release.
Below is a review of each track on BLACKPINK's 3rd mini album 'DEADLINE' by reporter Cue Choi, who recently attended a National Museum of Korea listening session.

Last night, the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan was more than a cultural landmark - it emerged as a symbolic stage for BLACKPINK’s third mini album, 'DEADLINE.' The museum hosted an exclusive listening session that blurred the boundary between heritage and contemporary pop, elevating the album’s unveiling into a cultural moment.
Inside, a dedicated listening space guided guests through the full tracklist in sequence, offering an immersive first encounter with the project. Outside, the museum’s façade was illuminated in BLACKPINK’s signature pink, transforming the historic institution into a striking visual statement. The event marked a deliberate convergence of K-culture, national heritage, and global pop influence, underscoring BLACKPINK’s reach beyond music into the broader cultural landscape.

<01 JUMP>
"A bold first for BLACKPINK, 'JUMP' explores the hardstyle genre. Opening with a striking guitar riff reminiscent of a Western film scene, the track quickly builds into an intense, high-impact drop. The unpredictable structure heightens tension, creating a rush that feels designed for live stages."
<02 GO>
"Built around the declarative hook 'BLACKPINK’ll make ya,' the title track commands attention from the start. The explosive production, tight rhythm structure, and confident vocal delivery reinforce a strong sense of presence. The melody lingers, while the message of courage and unity is delivered with clarity and conviction."
<03 Me and my>
"Set over a retro hip-hop beat layered with polished brass elements, 'Me and my' captures the listener immediately. Its addictive melody and relaxed groove stood out during the session, naturally drawing subtle movement from the audience. The track carries BLACKPINK’s signature coolness, softened with a refined, effortless flow."
<04 Champion>
"A fast-paced pop track with a dynamic hook structure, 'Champion' builds emotional momentum toward its powerful group refrain. The message of perseverance unfolds naturally, offering a sense of optimism and forward motion. The choral moments resonate strongly, suggesting the track will take on even greater impact in a stadium setting."
<05 Fxxxboy>
"Perhaps the most minimal track on the album, yet one of the most lingering. A gentle guitar line and restrained production allow the vocal textures to stand at the forefront. Without excess, the song unfolds with quiet intensity, balancing the album’s heavier moments."
More than anything, it was the setting that amplified the experience. Listening to 'DEADLINE' inside the National Museum of Korea felt symbolic. It positioned BLACKPINK not only as global pop artists, but as cultural figures occupying a meaningful space within Korea’s contemporary identity.
Meanwhile, anyone visiting the National Museum of Korea can participate in BLACKPINK's album listening experience during the museum's operating hours from February 26 to March 8. Additionally, visitors will be able to hear audio guides by BLACKPINK members on eight representative artifacts during this special event period.
