MC Mong strongly denied recent allegations related to prostitution, calling the reports “malicious” and expressing deep frustration over the claims.
On February 5, MC Mong told Ilgan Sports, “It was not prostitution. One of them is my girlfriend. Who prostitutes their own girlfriend?” He reportedly became emotional while speaking, emphasizing what he described as the unfairness of the situation. He explained that the man seen with him was a younger acquaintance, and that among the three women present, one was his girlfriend, another was a friend of his girlfriend, and the third was someone he met for the first time that day.
MC Mong further stated that they had spent about two to three hours together before he suddenly began discussing matters related to Chairman Cha Ga Won after deciding to leave his company, One Hundred Label. According to him, the women stepped away to give them privacy, which he says accounts for everything that happened. Raising his voice, MC Mong said, “I don’t know what kind of work they may have done in the past. But is it right to dig up prostitution allegations and talk about my girlfriend like this? Isn’t reporting such suspicions itself malicious?”
The allegations were first raised through claims introduced on the YouTube channel of Sunday Journal, which were later mentioned on the February 4 broadcast of TV Chosun’s program 'Shintongbangtong.' The broadcast revealed footage from an apartment elevator CCTV camera. According to reports, residents of the same apartment complex as MC Mong had filed complaints suggesting that prostitution might be taking place in the building, prompting the management office to review and release the footage as part of its investigation.
The video reportedly shows one man and three women riding the elevator together. Claims were made that the man was an acquaintance of MC Mong and that the women were hostesses. In response, MC Mong told the outlet that it was simply “a day I had dinner and a wine party with people I know.” When asked about claims that some of the women worked in entertainment establishments, he countered, “Not everyone who works at a bar engages in prostitution.”
The footage is said to have been taken before MC Mong stepped down from his position as co-CEO of One Hundred Label last year. Some have speculated that the incident was connected to his decision to resign, though this remains unconfirmed. MC Mong has recently been at the center of multiple controversies. During his time as co-CEO of One Hundred Label, he also faced allegations of an affair involving Chairman Cha Ga Won of p_Arc Group. MC Mong has firmly denied those claims as well.
