Singer MC Mong (real name Shin Dong Hyun) has become embroiled in new allegations involving prostitution, following earlier claims related to illegal proxy prescriptions.
According to a recent video uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Jirit Jirit', journalist Kim Sung Min alleged that rumors had circulated among residents of MC Mong’s apartment complex around June 2025, claiming the property was being used for prostitution. Multiple complaints were reportedly filed with the building’s management office, prompting a review of security footage.
The CCTV footage allegedly shows MC Mong and an acquaintance entering an elevator late at night with several women believed to be hostesses. The video was reportedly shown to MC Mong, after which he acknowledged the situation, according to the journalist.
Residents are said to have raised concerns to the management office, stating that prostitution appeared to be taking place within the apartment complex. In response, the management reviewed and disclosed relevant CCTV footage. The released video reportedly shows three women, suspected to be hostesses, entering and exiting the elevator with a male companion.
MC Mong denied the prostitution allegations, explaining that the gathering was merely a dinner and wine party with acquaintances. However, the journalist countered that some of the women were confirmed to be employed in adult entertainment venues. MC Mong reportedly responded by saying that working at such establishments does not necessarily mean engaging in prostitution, though he ultimately acknowledged the controversy surrounding the incident.
The journalist added that due to repeated complaints, the company had no choice but to investigate the matter internally. MC Mong reportedly stated that he would step down voluntarily from his professional duties and withdraw from work-related activities within the company.
Meanwhile, MC Mong is also facing allegations of illegally obtaining prescription medication. He is accused of receiving the sleep-inducing drug zolpidem through prescriptions issued under his manager’s name.
As of now, no official legal conclusions have been announced regarding the allegations.
