ENA's 'Honour' hits new personal best with ratings surging at midway point

ENA’s Monday-Tuesday drama 'Honour' has reached its halfway mark with a notable ratings boost. The 12-episode series aired its sixth installment, drawing a 3.6% viewership rating in the Seoul metropolitan area and 3.1% nationwide, according to Nielsen Korea. The metropolitan figure marks the show’s highest rating to date based on household viewership, raising anticipation over whether the upward trend will continue in the remaining episodes.

Episode 6, which aired on Feb. 17, followed the three lawyers of L&J as they intensified their investigation into the prostitution cartel known as “Connect In.” The episode delivered a shocking twist when it was revealed that Jeon So Young, a victim of sexual exploitation whom the trio had been protecting, was in fact the mysterious assailant known as “Green Hood,” who had been threatening them.

The L&J (Listen & Join) team focused their efforts on securing decisive evidence that Prosecutor Park Jae Yeol (played by Seo Hyun Woo) was implicated in the secret prostitution app “Connect In.” Yoon Ra Young (played by Lee Na Young) strategically approached Park’s wife, Hong Yeon Hee (Baek Eun Hye), discovering that she too was a victim of domestic violence. Persuading her by saying, “You are the key to escaping this hell,” Yoon handed her a USB device capable of copying Park’s phone data.

Meanwhile, Kang Shin Jae (played by Jung Eun Chae), who had been stripped of her leadership position, made a bold decision to protect L&J. She joined forces with Baek Tae Joo (played by Yeon Woo Jin), CEO of IT company The Prime, intending to leverage the engagement pressure imposed by her mother, Sung Tae Im (Kim Mi Sook), the head of Haeil. Although Kang exposed a prostitution scandal involving powerful elites—including Kwon Joong Hyun (played by Lee Hae Young)—Sung remained steadfast in siding with Haeil’s influential clients. Realizing her mother had chosen interests over justice, Kang proposed spinning L&J off into an independent nonprofit foundation and sought Baek’s support. He agreed, declaring that “Haeil is a legacy code that must disappear” and promising to dismantle it through a new system.

Hwang Hyun Jin
(played by Lee Chung Ah) obtained the laptop of slain journalist Lee Joon Hyuk (played by Lee Choong Joo). The reporter had entrusted her contact information to his emergency list before his death, anticipating potential danger. Recovered files from the ransomware-damaged laptop contained testimony from minor sexual assault victim Jo Yoo Jung (played by Park Se Hyun), detailing how Park Jae Yeol had installed the app on her phone, promising money and immunity from punishment, and that even an active-duty police officer later approached her.

The episode also exposed the identity of the corrupt police officer protecting “Connect In”: Kim Seung Jin (Jung Hee Tae), partner of Gu Seon Gyu (Choi Young Joon). Acting on Park’s orders, he had instructed drug offender Lee Sun Hwa (Baek Ji Hye) to retrieve the laptop.

Lee Sun Hwa successfully stole the laptop from the L&J office while the lawyers were away and demanded a large sum of money. However, on her way to meet Kim Seung Jin, she was subdued with a syringe by an unidentified assailant—later revealed to be “Green Hood.” In a final twist, Green Hood removed the mask at Yoon Ra Young’s home, exposing herself as Han Min Seo (Jeon So Young), a sexual exploitation victim connected to “Connect In.” Having previously sought refuge with L&J in exchange for testimony, her true motive now remains unclear, introducing a volatile new variable into the unfolding case.

The drama also hinted that “Connect In” could escalate beyond a prostitution ring into a full-scale national scandal. Suspicion arose over Park Jae Yeol’s rapid promotion—from provincial prosecutors’ offices to a swift appointment in Seoul—prompting a senior prosecutor to question him directly about his ties to a government minister. The implication that “Connect In” is part of a deeply entrenched structural crime suggests a looming storm ahead.

Honor: Her Courtroom follows three female lawyers who confront a massive scandal from their past in a gripping mystery investigation. The series stars Lee Na Young, Jung Eun Chae, and Lee Chung Ah. Episode 7 will air on February 23 at 10 PM KST on ENA.
