News that “FOREVER:CHERRY,” a name linked to Jang Wonyoung of IVE, has completed a trademark application has sparked speculation that she may be preparing to make a move into business ventures.
According to the patent information search service KIPRIS, Jang Wonyoung filed trademark applications on the 11th for “FOREVER:CHERRY,” “포에버:체리,” and a cherry-shaped logo.
The designated goods reportedly include around 30 categories such as wig-fixing adhesive, household degreasers, air fresheners, wet wipes, food flavorings (essential oils), essential oils, non-medicated massage gels, fragrances, cosmetics, ceramic ornaments, soap dishes, combs, and sponges.
Previously, on January 12th, Jang Won Young shared a mysterious account on her personal social media.
The account, filled with pink-toned cherry images and little explanation, piqued curiosity. Known for her fondness for cherries, the pink color palette and kitschy mood of the visuals align closely with Jang Won Young’s signature image, drawing attention.
The cherry-shaped logo also appears to incorporate the consonants of her Korean initials “ㅈㅇㅇ.”
As Jang Won Young has not made any official statement about “FOREVER:CHERRY,” various speculations are circulating among fans.
However, with cosmetics included among the trademark categories, many believe the project is likely related to a beauty brand.
Online communities showed mixed reactions. Some expressed excitement, saying “It suits Wonyoung’s image so well,” “I’m really curious what it is,” and “If Wonyoung is doing it, I’m in.” Others voiced concern, commenting “An idol already starting a business?” and “Her comeback is soon — I’m a bit worried.”
Meanwhile, IVE is set to release their second full album 'REVIVE+' on February 23.
