Singer Lee Hyori is participating in lyricist and music producer Park Chang Hak’s songbook project.
On January 28th KST, “The Heart, Like Ice, Firmly” — featuring Lee Hyori — will be released.
The track Lee Hyori sang, “The Heart, Like Ice, Firmly,” is the fifth single from Ode to Love Songs: Lyricist Park Chang Hak Songbook Project, which looks back on Park Chang Hak’s 35-year musical journey.
This single is a newly arranged version of a song originally included on saxophonist and composer Son Sung Jae’s 2011 album 'Rain of Rain'. Lee Hyori participated as the vocalist, delivering a restrained and mature interpretation centered on a cool yet firm emotional tone.
Lee Hyori has continued to pursue independently matured musical activities. Through collaborations with her husband, singer-songwriter Lee Sang Soon, as well as self-composed tracks and music releases, she has broadened her musical spectrum. She has also maintained musical exchanges with Park Chang Hak, working together on songs such as “Hope It’s Like Yours” in 2024. This single project began after Lee Hyori personally expressed her interest in participating, taking part in both the song selection and interpretation process to enhance its quality.
The arrangement, built around piano and string orchestra, was handled by singer-songwriter Jeon Jin Hee, leader of the band Ravie Nuage, who is also active as a solo artist and served as music director for the documentary I Met You, adding lingering depth to the track.
“The Heart, Like Ice, Firmly” featuring Lee Hyori will be released at 6 PM today on major online music platforms.
