Former After School member Lizzy caused widespread concern after revealing severe emotional distress during a live broadcast on her personal account.
During the livestream, Lizzy appeared visibly shaken by malicious comments about her appearance and repeated invasive questions from viewers. At one point, she said she would “try to keep living,” while also using an extreme expression that alarmed many watching in real time. As the broadcast continued, her anxiety and confusion seemed to intensify, and the livestream ended abruptly.
The broadcast in question took place on January 28. Lizzy shared that she had been hurt by aggressive remarks from some viewers and attempted to explain her current state. In between, she introduced parts of her daily routine, such as skincare items and travel essentials, seemingly trying to maintain her composure. However, questions related to plastic surgery appeared to unsettle her emotionally.
Addressing those questions, Lizzy drew a line, saying such matters were something individuals should research on their own. She also mentioned that she had undergone an unavoidable revision procedure due to a medical accident, responding in a sensitive manner. The atmosphere grew increasingly unsettled as she appeared anxious, even showing signs of confusion after misplacing personal belongings during the stream. Toward the end, a person believed to be her friend joined the broadcast and spoke with her briefly before the livestream was quickly concluded.
Previously, on December 31, Lizzy shared New Year greetings on her personal account along with recent photos, showing a neat short haircut and a black fur jacket that gave off a sophisticated mood. Debuting in 2010 as a member of After School, she was also widely loved as part of the unit Orange Caramel alongside Nana and Raina. More recently, she resumed activities by holding a solo fan meeting in Tokyo, Japan.
In 2021, Lizzy was fined following a drunk driving incident. At the time, she was involved in a traffic accident in the Gangnam area of Seoul, and her blood alcohol level was reported to be high enough to result in license cancellation. After a period of self-reflection, she had been preparing to return to activities, but her recent live broadcast remarks have once again drawn worried attention from the public.
