According to an exclusive media outlet report on January 22 KST, discussions are under way for a possible X1 reunion.
It's been reported that Ahn Joon Young PD, the main producer of Mnet's 'Produce' series including 'Produce 101', 'Produce 101' season 2, 'Produce 48', and 'Produce X 101', recently met up with some members of X1 to suggest a reunion through a reality program, much like Wanna One with 'Wanna One GO'.
Previously, Ahn Joon Young PD was arrested in 2019 on charges of rigging all 4 seasons of the 'Produce' series. Both the police and the prosecution found him guilty, and by May of 2020, the Seoul Central District Court sentenced him to 3 years in prison, concluding that the votes to all 4 seasons were rigged, with numerous victims and their future prospects affected by the unfair rigging.
Among 'Produce' alums, X1 took the brute force of the vote rigging controversy at the time, disbanding just 4 months after their debut in January of 2020, while IZ*ONE managed to fulfill the duration of their project group contracts as signed until April of 2021 with relatively little repercussions.
Meanwhile, fans recently noted that some members of X1 met with singer/producer Eru, based on an Instagram post by Eru from January 21 KST.
