BLACKPINK member Rosé candidly shared that she once went to extreme lengths, including disguising herself, in order to keep a past relationship private.
On January 28 local time, Rosé appeared on the U.S. podcast 'Call Her Daddy,' where she talked about her dating life and the intense efforts she made to avoid paparazzi during a previous relationship.
When host Alex Cooper asked how she avoided being photographed with her boyfriend, Rosé replied with a laugh, “I literally tried everything,” adding that she was almost paranoid, thinking, “If we get caught, it’s over.”
She explained that she even bought a short, curly wig at a shopping mall and carefully observed elderly women on the street, studying their clothing styles and the way they walked. “I matched grandma style clothes and a bag and went to my boyfriend’s house like that,” she said. “There were basically no places we could go.”
Rosé revealed that she kept up the grandmother disguise for six months. She added humorously, “Later, I saw an actual grandmother wearing the clothes I used to wear and asked, ‘Were those my clothes?’ and it turned out they were.”
She also spoke honestly about the emotional side of dating. When asked whether she had ever been disappointed by an ex, Rosé responded, “I was disappointed most of the time, but there was one person I wasn’t.”
As for her current relationship status, Rosé carefully shared, “I’m looking for love,” but admitted she worries that a single answer like that might define her as a person. She added, “Just because I’m from a K-pop group doesn’t mean I’m not a human being like everyone else.”
