Korean American actress Arden Cho has added another trophy to her growing list of accolades with her role in the Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters.'
The North Carolina Film Critics Association (NCFCA) announced the winners of its 14th Best Cinema Awards on January 27. At the ceremony, Arden Cho was honored with the Best Vocal Performance in Animation award for her work in 'K-Pop Demon Hunters.'
In the film, Cho voices Rumi, a member of the fictional girl group Huntrix. She was praised for delicately capturing the character’s emotions and individuality through her vocal performance.
Cho edged out a strong lineup of nominees, including May Hong (K-Pop Demon Hunters), Yoo Ji Young (K-Pop Demon Hunters), Jason Bateman (Zootopia 2), and Ke Huy Quan (Zootopia 2).
Reacting to the win, Cho said, “This award is not an achievement mine alone. It’s the result of the incredible work by the fellow actors and production team I collaborated with, as well as the fans who supported us until the very end.”
She also shared her aspirations as an actress, adding, “Through my voice and performances, I hope to become an actor who delivers resonance, one that lingers in people’s hearts for a long time.”
Meanwhile, 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' emerged as a major winner at the awards, taking home three honors in total, including Best Animation and Best Original Track for “Golden,” in addition to Cho’s vocal performance award.
