TWICE has sent a donation and deep condolences to the victims of the recent fire in Hong Kong.
On December 4, JYP Entertainment announced via Weibo that the group donated 1 million HKD (approx. 128,000 USD or 188 million KRW) to World Vision Hong Kong.
The funds will be used for emergency relief efforts, including providing temporary housing, psychological support, and educational and livelihood assistance for affected children and residents.
TWICE is currently scheduled to perform at the Hong Kong Kai Tak Stadium from December 6 to 7. Regarding the concert, JYP stated, "We consulted with the organizer, Live Nation, while monitoring the local situation. Ultimately, we decided to proceed with the performance as planned."
However, they emphasized the tone of the event: "Since this decision was made with a heavy heart, we will do our best to prepare and operate the concert with an even more solemn attitude."
The agency concluded with a message of support: "We express our deep condolences to those who passed away in this unexpected accident and offer sincere comfort to the bereaved families and everyone suffering due to this fire. We sincerely hope the situation stabilizes and the affected areas recover as soon as possible."
