The members of Running Man openly expressed their hope for Ji Suk Jin to finally win a Daesang, making his absence from the 2025 SBS Entertainment Awards nominee list all the more disappointing.
On a recent episode of ‘Running Man,’ the cast took part in a year end themed race that included a mock “year end hearing.” While the segment was meant to test how well the members could predict one another’s reactions, attention quickly turned to Ji Suk Jin and his long discussed desire for a Daesang.
When asked whether he thought he would be nominated this year, Ji Suk Jin responded firmly that he was not nominated and stressed that he was not obsessed with winning. However, he drew laughter when he added that he would gladly accept the award if it were given to him.
As the conversation continued, Kim Jong Kook remarked that he believed it was time for Ji Suk Jin to receive the Daesang. Ji Suk Jin reacted with an embarrassed smile, brushing off the comment while clearly touched by the support.
The moment carried extra weight given Ji Suk Jin’s history with the award. Despite being considered a strong contender in past years, including 2021, he has yet to take home the top prize. Last year, the topic gained attention once again when his close friend Yoo Jae Suk won the Daesang instead, prompting public discussion and sympathy from viewers.

However, reality proved disappointing. The recently revealed nominee list for the 2025 SBS Entertainment Awards included major names such as Yoo Jae Suk, Jun Hyun Moo, Tak Jae Hoon, Shin Dong Yup, Lee Sang Min, and Seo Jang Hoon, but Ji Suk Jin’s name was notably absent.
While the moment was played for laughs on screen, the cast’s repeated remarks that it is time for Ji Suk Jin to win highlighted their genuine support. Whether that wish will ever be realized continues to draw attention and support from fans.
