The controversy stems from the December 27 broadcast, during which Jung Woo Sung engaged in conversation with Lee Young Ja, maintaining intense eye contact and playful banter that bordered on what many described as 'flirting'. While the moment was intended to generate laughter within the acceptable range of variety entertainment, many viewers responded that, given his current personal circumstances, the scene felt uncomfortable to watch.
Some criticized Jung Woo Sung for potentially attempting to engage in positive 'image making' amid ongoing criticism by “using Lee Young Ja” to his advantage.
Questions were raised over whether this 'variety show flirting' was appropriate or whether it once again ignored his real life circumstances.
