The Netflix series 'The Price of Confession,' starring Jeon Do Yeon and Kim Go Eun, has surged to the top of the global rankings, emerging as the most-watched non-English series worldwide last week. Praised for its powerhouse performances and gripping, suspense-driven narrative, the Korean drama is gaining strong traction with viewers both at home and abroad.
According to Netflix’s official Tudum Top 10 chart released on December 17, 'The Price of Confession' recorded 5.7 million views between August 8 and 14—calculated by dividing total watch time by runtime—securing the No. 1 spot in the non-English TV category. The series entered the Global Top 10 in 39 countries, including Taiwan, Vietnam, India, Türkiye, Kenya, Bolivia, and Peru, underscoring its broad international appeal.

The mystery thriller centers on Yoon Soo (Played by Jeon Do Yeon), a woman accused of murdering her husband, and Mo Eun (played by Kim Go Eun), a mysterious figure known as “the witch.” The story unravels the dangerous relationship between the two women. Mo Eun makes a shocking proposal to Yoon Soo: she will help her clear her name through a false confession—on the condition that Yoon Soo kills another person outside prison. The series builds tension through Yoon Soo’s agonizing choice, the enigmatic identity of Mo Eun, and the harrowing consequences that follow, drawing viewers deeper into its tightly woven plot.
The project has also drawn attention as a reunion of Jeon Do Yeon and Kim Go Eun, a decade after their 2015 film 'Memories of the Sword.' Since then, both actresses have steadily built acclaimed filmographies, now reuniting in a rare female-led, dual-protagonist drama. At a time when women-centered lead projects remain uncommon, their collaboration alone has generated significant buzz.

Audience reactions online have been overwhelmingly enthusiastic. Viewers have flooded comment sections with praise, saying things like, “I watched it all—everyone’s acting is insane,” “It’s been a while since I found a drama I didn’t want to finish too quickly,” “With these two acting powerhouses, it’s a guaranteed win,” and “Once you start, you can’t stop.” Many reported binge-watching the series in a single day, captivated by both the performances and the storyline.
Riding the wave of its success, the production team also released 12 previously unseen stills, spotlighting Yoon Soo’s desperate struggle as she attempts to carry out the deadly task demanded as “the price of confession.” The images heighten intrigue, depicting Yoon Soo racing to uncover the true culprit while trapped in the cruel irony of having to murder to escape a murder charge. A bloodied Mo Eun appears in one still, hinting at the perilous nature of their deal and deepening the mystery surrounding its true cost.
With its dense performances and meticulously crafted narrative, leaving a lasting impression, 'The Price of Confession' is fast becoming one of the most talked-about series of the year. As word-of-mouth momentum continues to build, attention is now turning to how far its global success will extend.
'The Price of Confession' is currently streaming on Netflix.
