Actor Lee Byung Hun has graced the cover of the January issue of ‘Arena Homme Plus.’
In the pictorial, Lee Byung Hun creates a story through his presence alone, set against a mysterious space-time backdrop. The photos capture a range of emotions, from the sense of being overwhelmed while standing before vast nature, to anxious tension as if being chased by something unseen, and ultimately a quiet confidence that he will overcome it all.
In the accompanying interview, Lee Byung Hun shared his thoughts on his continued overseas activities. “Over the past one to two years since ‘Squid Game,’ including my involvement in ‘K-pop Demon Hunters’ in between and now ‘No Other Choice,’ it’s honestly fascinating to me that the world has shown enough interest and support to call this a phenomenon,” he said. “I think a major factor is how Korean content gradually earned global love over time, and with the rise of streaming services, Korean-language content gained the opportunity to be viewed on equal footing with Hollywood productions.”
He also spoke about what has driven him to continue achieving milestones as an actor over such a long period of time. “The process of discovering human emotions in new ways is endlessly intriguing to me. I keep wondering if there are still stories that can feel even newer,” he said. “When an actor’s career comes to an end, what remains isn’t awards, but the works themselves. I still have curiosity and longing about whether there are deeper and more subtle human emotions I haven’t shown yet. Of course, I do have the desire to work on many projects that people really want to see.”
