The online whistleblower A, who first accused comedian Jo Se Ho of having connections to an organized crime figure, has announced further revelations, escalating the controversy.
On December 8, A wrote on social media, “I’m human too, and yes, I’m afraid of gangsters,” opening up about the pressure surrounding the situation. Responding to allegations that they had accepted money, A firmly denied it: “People keep asking if I took money, but absolutely not. I didn’t receive even 1,000 KRW (about 0.68 USD). Even when someone offered support, I refused every time.”
A then declared their intention to continue posting allegations. “Starting December 9th, I will resume revealing the truth, piece by piece, until justice prevails,” they wrote, signaling additional claims related to Jo Se Ho. A further intensified the controversy by stating, “From December 9th, I plan to release what I’ve been told about gambling money laundering,” suggesting they possess multiple tips regarding the alleged scheme.
A also directly addressed the comedian, saying, “Jo Se Ho, whom I’ve always liked, shouldn’t just talk about filing lawsuits. Please explain things clearly like a man.”
Previously, A posted a photo of Jo Se Ho with a man surnamed Choi, claiming Choi was a member of an organized crime group and alleging that Jo had received cash and expensive gifts from him. “Can a national comedian behave like this?” A wrote at the time.
In response, Jo Se Ho’s agency A2Z Entertainment released a statement on December 5, firmly denying the allegations. “These claims are nothing more than A’s personal speculation and are entirely untrue,” the agency stated. “Jo Se Ho and Mr. Choi are simply acquaintances. The accusation that he received money or luxury gifts from Choi is completely groundless.” The agency also indicated it was considering legal action.
However, A2Z Entertainment did acknowledge that Jo Se Ho and Choi were “just acquaintances,” a point that has continued to fuel debate. As the controversy grows, public calls for Jo Se Ho to step down from KBS2’s '1 Night 2 Days Season 4' and tvN’s 'You Quiz on the Block' have been increasing.
