As broadcaster Jo Se Ho stepped down from his programs amid allegations of ties to an organized crime figure, the production team of 'Yoo Quiz on the Block' has released an official statement.
On December 9th KST, the production team of tvN’s variety program 'Yoo Quiz on the Block' stated, “We respect Jo Se Ho’s decision to leave the program after much deliberation. Beginning with the next recording, Jo Se Ho will no longer participate in the production of this program.”
They added that “the episodes already filmed—two weeks’ worth—will air as scheduled. This week’s recording will proceed without Jo Se Ho, as we cannot cancel on the guests already confirmed to appear.”
As the controversy intensified, Jo Se Ho decided to step down from both 'Yoo Quiz on the Block' and '2 Days & 1 Night', the programs he is currently part of. His agency stated earlier in the day, “Jo Se Ho feels a deep sense of responsibility for the misunderstandings and controversy surrounding him. After discussing with the production team, he has decided to voluntarily withdraw from the programs.”
Jo Se Ho also shared his own message through social media, saying, “The suspicions raised due to that acquaintance are entirely untrue. This incident made me reflect on whether I might be causing harm to the programs I’m part of. After much thought, I informed both programs of my intention to step down.”
