G-Dragon once again cemented his legendary status at the ‘2025 Melon Music Awards’, delivering a stage that transcended the format of an awards ceremony and transformed the night into a true celebration of music.

G-DRAGON took the stage on December 20 at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome during the 2025 Melon Music Awards (MMA).
On this night, G-DRAGON claimed three of the ceremony’s top Daesang honors: Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for his third full-length album ‘Übermensch’, and Best Song of the Year for “HOME SWEET HOME”. He also swept Best Solo – Male, Best Songwriter, Top 10 Artist, and Millions Top 10, earning a total of seven awards and firmly establishing himself as the standout artist of the 2025 MMA.
These accolades reflect the remarkable musical achievements G-DRAGON delivered throughout the year. ‘Übermensch’ surpassed 1 million cumulative streams on Melon just four hours after its release, becoming the fastest solo album to reach the milestone. Within 24 hours, the album recorded 4.2 million streams, setting a new record for a solo artist. All tracks from the album simultaneously entered Melon’s real-time Top 20, further proving its massive public appeal.
“HOME SWEET HOME (feat. Taeyang, Daesung)” stood at the center of this success. The song topped Melon’s real-time and daily charts immediately upon release and went on to hold the No. 1 spot on the daily chart for a total of 76 days, marking the longest-running No. 1 song by a male artist in Melon history. It was also selected as one of the most-streamed songs on the platform during the first half of the year, demonstrating strong long-term popularity beyond initial buzz.

G-DRAGON’s performance fully embodied the weight of these achievements. Appearing on stage wearing a crown, he opened the show with “PO₩ER,” instantly commanding the venue with explosive energy. During “HOME SWEET HOME,” he performed alongside Taeyang and Daesung through a VCR appearance, creating a powerful sense of synergy.
He drew particular attention by unveiling “TOO BAD – Alan Walker Remix” for the first time. The stage, created in collaboration with world-renowned choreographer and performance director RIEHATA, delivered dance-battle-like intensity and groove, pushing the atmosphere to its peak. The performance concluded with “Crooked,” wrapping up the night with a free-spirited and symbolic finale.
Above all, G-DRAGON’s presence as the “K-POP KING” stood out both on and off the stage. Freely moving between the artist seating area and the performance stage, he connected naturally with artists across generations and genres, turning the MMA into a space where the past, present, and future of K-pop converged as one.
After winning three out of four Daesang awards, G-Dragon shared, “Every year is special, but this year was particularly meaningful to me personally.” He explained, “My third album ‘Übermensch’ was a kind of mantra I placed on myself, meaning ‘one who transcends, one who goes beyond.’”
He added, “Since there were so many first-time attempts, I sincerely thank everyone who worked with me, my fans who continue to be my source of inspiration, the BIGBANG members and fellow artists, and Melon for this honor.”
In his Artist of the Year acceptance speech, G-Dragon expressed respect for the entire K-pop scene, saying, “Everyone here is an artist and a main character with their own story.” Speaking about “HOME SWEET HOME,” he added, “It became a warmer song because my members were part of it, and thanks to that, I was able to spend the past year warmly.”
As he grew visibly emotional during his final remarks, the venue filled with chants of “Kwon Ji Yong,” sustaining an atmosphere more reminiscent of a concert than an awards ceremony.
