The so called “Injection Aunt” controversy, which began with broadcaster Park Na Rae, continues to spread rapidly, now resembling what many online are calling a “death note.” As celebrities followed by the controversial figure on social media come under scrutiny one by one, Davichi member Kang Min Kyung has stepped forward to clarify her position.

According to the entertainment industry, Park Na Rae, SHINee’s Key, and YouTuber Haetnim have all suspended activities after becoming embroiled in allegations that they received illegal medical services from a non licensed individual known as “injection aunt.” As attention intensified, Kang Min Kyung also became the subject of speculation.

The common link among those named is that they appeared on the Instagram following list of the individual identified as A. Online users began examining the account and circulating lists of celebrities followed by A, pressuring them to explain any possible connections.

In response, Kang Min Kyung posted a message on her social media story on the 20th, saying, “I noticed that some people are curious about matters unrelated to me in Instagram and YouTube comments, so I wanted to speak carefully.”

She added, “Due to the nature of social media, it is difficult to know everyone who follows my account. However, the concerns people are worried about have absolutely nothing to do with me. I did not want to cause unnecessary concern to those who are waiting for our concert in January, which is why I am posting this.”

The “injection aunt” scandal surfaced amid conflicts between Park Na Rae and her former managers. Allegations emerged that Park visited A’s officetel in Ilsan, Goyang, or summoned A to her residence to receive fatigue recovery IV drips multiple times. Further claims alleged that controlled substances were delivered without prescriptions or prescribed under a manager’s name, prompting the Korean Medical Association to call for an investigation into illegal medical practices.

A’s social media following list reportedly includes numerous high profile celebrities. Controversy intensified after photos of SHINee’s Key’s dog and a signed album from Onew appeared on A’s account. Onew explained on the 11th that he first visited a Sinsa dong clinic where A worked in April 2022 upon a friend’s recommendation, stating he was unaware of any licensing issues at the time and that the signed album was simply a gesture of gratitude for treatment.

Key, who had remained silent due to an overseas tour, also issued a statement on the 17th, saying he visited the clinic through an acquaintance’s recommendation and believed A to be a licensed doctor until recently. He has since stepped down from regular appearances on programs such as ‘I Live Alone’ and ‘Amazing Saturday’.

YouTuber Haetnim likewise faced allegations of receiving illegal medication and IV treatments. She acknowledged receiving swelling medication at the clinic where A worked but denied any involvement with diet pills or IV drips.

Meanwhile, A had previously claimed on social media to have served as the professor for both domestic and foreign nationals at a medical university hospital in Inner Mongolia. All related posts have since been deleted.
