The individual identified as A, who has been raising allegations regarding actor Lee Yi Kyung’s private life, has released an additional statement.
On December 17 KST, A posted on social media, stating, “I have previously sent DMs to Korean male celebrities and influencers,” adding, “However, this was the first time I ever received a direct reply from a celebrity, and at the time, that aspect felt surprising to me.”
A continued, “The point where I felt something was wrong was a message I received in April this year,” explaining, “At that point, I judged the tone of the conversation to have clearly crossed a line. I believed I needed proof to confirm that it was indeed the actor himself, so I immediately asked for a selfie.”
A further stated, “I do not believe that I was the only person whose DMs he responded to,” adding, “I actually received messages of support from several individuals who had also exchanged DMs with him, but I chose not to disclose those details out of concern that additional harm could occur.”
Previously, A had claimed that the messages alleging Lee Yi Kyung’s private conduct were fabricated using AI, only to later reverse that claim. Addressing this, A said, “Out of fear, I initially explained that the content was AI-generated, but I want to clarify the facts once again,” emphasizing, “The content is true.”
Lee Yi Kyung’s agency has not released a separate statement regarding A’s latest remarks. However, it has indicated that legal action against A will continue.
Lee Yi Kyung became embroiled in rumors concerning his private life after A, who claimed to be German, released screenshots of allegedly inappropriate messages. In response, his agency previously stated that the allegations were “completely false” and announced a firm legal response. Lee Yi Kyung has since formally requested an investigation against A.
Amid the controversy, Lee Yi Kyung stepped down from 'Hangout with Yoo' on MBC, and his scheduled appearance as an MC on 'The Return of Superman' on KBS2 was also canceled.
