Urban Zakapa reveal behind-the-scenes story of casting Suzy and Lee Do Hyun for 'STAY' MV
On November 3, Urban Zakapa held a listening session to celebrate the release of their new mini album 'STAY'.
Introducing the title track, Jo Hyun Ah said, “It’s a song that reminds us a lot of our early days as Urban Zakapa.”
She also shared the story behind the music video, which stars actors Suzy and Lee Do Hyun. “We wanted the video to leave a lingering emotional impression, so we hoped to cast two actors who could convey that feeling,” Jo Hyun Ah said. “Suzy is one of my closest friends, and she kindly agreed to appear without any no pay. Lee Do Hyun also joined without pay — I thought he was such a charming actor, and it happened to align perfectly with his discharge timing. It was an honor to work with both of them. I imagined how great they’d look together on screen, and the result turned out even better than I expected. I think I might have a talent for matching good visual chemistry,” she added with a laugh.
Kwon Soon Il chimed in, “At the time, Hyun Ah was contacting Suzy about the role. I actually wrote ‘Stay’ while picturing Suzy’s lyrical beauty. I think it’s the song that went through the most melody revisions in our history. The music video is visually stunning — definitely one worth watching.”
Urban Zakapa’s new mini album [STAY] blends various genres — pop, R&B, ballad, and modern rock — into one cohesive narrative.
Following the album’s release at 6 p.m. KST on November 3, Urban Zakapa will kick off their national concert tour starting in Gwangju on November 22, followed by Seoul (Nov 29–30), Busan (Dec 6), and Seongnam (Dec 13).
