Seventeen’s Hoshi is now joined by his parents in a prestigious circle of high-value donors, continuing the family’s legacy of generosity.
On November 11, the Community Chest of Korea (CCK) announced that Hoshi’s mother, Park Mi Young, has become the 3,729th member of the “Honor Society,” an exclusive group for major donors.
Founded in December 2007, the Honor Society recognizes social leaders who donate or pledge 100 million KRW (approximately 75,000 USD) or more to the Community Chest of Korea.
The Hoshi family is a member of the “Family Honor” initiative. Hoshi himself contributed 100 million KRW (about 75,000 USD) to mark his 26th birthday in 2021, while his father, Kwon Hyuk Doo, joined the Honor Society last year.
As a family, they have actively participated in philanthropic efforts benefiting local communities. Recently, Hoshi donated another 100 million KRW (about 75,000 USD) to cover construction costs for a public school in Zambia, supporting students in Africa.
Meanwhile, Hoshi is currently serving his mandatory military service. He enlisted on September 16 and is scheduled to be discharged on March 15, 2027.
