The fandom of NewJeans has announced plans to stage a truck protest, signaling growing conflict among HYBE fandoms over the group’s potential return.
On November 24th KST, a NewJeans fan collective known as “NewJeansTruckTaskTeam” stated, “Although ADOR’s long-awaited goal of bringing NewJeans back is becoming a reality, what we are seeing instead is the company’s unclear stance and distorted media play. Irresponsible speculative reports are pushing the artists into the center of public controversy.”
They continued, “A company that neglects its duty to protect its artists cannot claim its rights as an agency. As fans of NewJeans, we strongly condemn this contradictory situation where the label is the one holding the artists back.”
The fans issued several demands to HYBE and ADOR, including:
• Immediate fulfillment of the company’s basic duty to protect the artists
• An end to neglect and unproductive media warfare
• Transparent disclosure of all legal response measures
They added, “Guaranteeing and protecting the personal rights of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein is the first step toward restoring trust and is a fundamental responsibility of the agency. We ask for immediate and visible action to ensure their protection.”
The fandom criticized the companies further, saying, “While the artists are exposed to indiscriminate public attacks, the agency has effectively left them unprotected, failing in its duties. Silence and inaction amount to complicity.”
They also questioned ADOR’s anti-malicious-comment measures:
“What specific actions have been taken against channels that systematically generate malicious rumors? We ask for concrete and transparent updates that fans can accept, such as identifying offenders, progress on legal complaints, and account closures—not empty gestures.”
The fan group reiterated full support for all five members who recently expressed their intention to return to ADOR, saying, “We Bunnies will continue to support Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein without wavering. We will stay by their side until the very end.”
The fandom is currently preparing a NewJeans-related truck protest and is collecting slogan submissions from individual fans.
Recently, following Haerin and Hyein’s declaration of intent to return, Minji, Hanni, and Danielle have also communicated their wish to return to ADOR. However, ADOR has only confirmed the return of Haerin and Hyein, stating that it is still “verifying the intent” of the remaining members.
Opposition toward a NewJeans comeback has also intensified. Fans of HYBE groups LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT staged their own truck protests, declaring they oppose NewJeans’ return and consider reconciliation impossible.
On November 20th, LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT fans held a truck protest in front of HYBE’s Yongsan headquarters, criticizing NewJeans’ return and urging stronger protection and anti-harassment measures for their own groups.
As the labels representing ILLIT, LE SSERAFIM, and NewJeans have all announced plans for legal action against malicious comments, tensions between fandoms continue to escalate amid the delayed official statement regarding NewJeans’ comeback.
