Kang Tae Oh and Kim Se Jeong are both bearing the pressure of MBC's low ratings, and they have recently shared their thoughts on the upcoming series 'Moon River.'
As MBC's Friday-Saturday drama, including 'Crushology 101,' 'Mary Kills People,' and 'To The Moon,' struggled with 1-2% viewership ratings, the network is betting its final card of the year on the historical drama 'Moon River.' After completing his military service, Kang Tae Oh returned with 'The Potato Lab,' which earned modest ratings. Now, with hopes pinned on MBC's rebound and his first historical drama in six years since 'The Tale of Nokdu,' Kang Tae Oh is carrying the pressure of making his second post-military project a success.

The new MBC Friday-Saturday drama 'Moon River' (written by Jo Seung Hee, directed by Lee Dong Hyun, produced by Highjeum Studio, planned by Kwon Sung Chang), premieres on November 7 at 9:50 PM. The fantasy historical romance revolves around a crown prince who has lost his laughter and a magistrate who has lost her memories, who unexpectedly swap souls, creating a “role-reversal” dynamic.
A teaser video showing the two characters’ body swap sparked significant buzz, and Kang Tae Oh and Kim Se Jeong meticulously prepared to make the soul-switching experience as convincing as possible.

Kang Tae Oh revealed, “While filming, I closely observed how Kim Se Jeong portrayed Park Dal Yi—her habits, expressions, emotions, and speech. I tried to bring those external traits into my own performance. We also met separately for script readings and shared our perspectives on how our characters would think in different situations. We even recorded each other’s lines to support one another,” highlighting his dedication.
Kim Se Jeong added, “We set aside a day to read through the script with changes and immediately shared any challenging parts to brainstorm ideas. I tried to capture Kang Tae Oh’s habits and speech patterns, and I particularly liked his resonance, so I studied that aspect to incorporate it into my performance,” emphasizing her efforts to enrich the character of Lee Kang.

The extraordinary teamwork between Kang Tae Oh and Kim Se Jeong, down to the smallest details, raises curiosity about how they bring the soul swap between Lee Kang and Park Dal Yi to life and what laughter and emotion they will deliver to viewers.
Fans can witness the irreplaceable chemistry between Kang Tae Oh and Kim Se Jeong when 'Moon River' premieres on November 7 at 9:50 PM.
