A debate is heating up online after a Korean netizen raised suspicions that a track sounds strikingly similar to ALLDAY PROJECT’s debut single, 'FAMOUS.'
The discussion began when a post titled "The track that sounds similar to ALLDAY PROJECT’s ‘FAMOUS’" appeared in a popular Korean online community. The writer included two tracks for comparison: ALLDAY PROJECT’s “FAMOUS” and Chris Lake & Aluna’s “Beggin’.”
Chris Lake & Aluna’s “Beggin’” was released two years ago and quickly gained attention in the global EDM scene. Chris Lake, a renowned English electronic dance music producer and DJ, first rose to prominence in 2006 with his hit single “Changes,” featuring Laura V. He is also known for his collaborative projects — Under Construction with Fisher and Anti Up with Chris Lorenzo. Aluna Francis, known professionally as Aluna, is a British singer, DJ, songwriter, and producer who rose to fame as part of the electronic music duo AlunaGeorge.
Following the post, Korean netizens flooded the comments section to share their opinions. Some users claimed that the rhythm and beat patterns of “FAMOUS” bore a strong resemblance to “Beggin’,” suggesting that the inspiration might have been too close for comfort. Others disagreed, saying that while both songs share similar EDM elements, the melodies and overall arrangements differ enough to stand apart.
