Jung Woo Sung discussed his first project since recent controversy, speaking at a press event for the Disney+ original series ‘Made in Korea’ on Nov. 13, 2025 at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel’s Cinderella Ballroom alongside director Woo Min Ho, Hyun Bin, and Woo Do Hwan.
Last November, it became public that Jung Woo Sung had a son with model Moon Gabi. He said at the time that he would "fulfill his responsibilities as a father," and in August he registered his marriage with a non-celebrity partner. Recently, Moon Gabi drew attention by sharing images of their son on her social account.
Explaining why he joined ‘Made in Korea’, Jung Woo Sung said, "When the director first approached me, I thought the character didn’t suit me." He added, "I wondered if someone more daring should take it, but as I read the script, I felt there were parts I could fill, so I took the script—I took courage.*" Woo Do Hwan said his biggest draw was Woo Min Ho, while Hyun Bin noted, "The power of the script. It mixes the real 1970s setting with fiction to build a solid story." Comparing the series to other modern-history dramas, Jung Woo Sung said it offers "a distinctive story that, within a fictional tale grounded in historical facts, shows human desire and inquiry, and how people stay intensely faithful to desire to survive."
Set for release on Dec. 24, 2025, ‘Made in Korea’ follows Baek Ki Tae, a man driven by ambition for wealth and power, and prosecutor Jang Geon Young, who risks everything to stop him as they collide with a sweeping case in the turbulent 1970s.
