
Singer-actress Hyeri stepped forward to aid recovery efforts following the large-scale apartment fire in Hong Kong.
On November 28, Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Im Chae Chung) announced that Hyeri donated 200,000 Hong Kong dollars to support recovery efforts and assist the bereaved families affected by the tragedy. The amount is equivalent to approximately 38 million KRW (about 28,500 USD).
A representative from Hyeri’s agency stated, “Hyeri deeply mourns the firefighters and citizens who lost their lives due to the fire in Hong Kong. She made the donation hoping it would provide even a small measure of comfort and support to the families experiencing sudden and immense loss.”
Shin Hoon, Secretary General of Hope Bridge, added, “We sincerely thank Hyeri for her heartfelt support toward those affected by the devastating fire in Hong Kong. The donation will be used meaningfully for recovery efforts and assistance for the bereaved families.”
Founded in 1961 by national media outlets and civic organizations, Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association is a specialized disaster-relief fundraising institution that provides emergency assistance, monetary support, protection for disaster-vulnerable groups, and community recovery based on public contributions. The association also focuses on disaster prevention and promoting a culture of safety to help build a safer society for all.
