Han Hyo Joo impressed viewers with her narration in the KBS 1TV special documentary series ‘Transhuman,’ which premiered on November 12.

The first episode, ‘Cyborg,’ explored humanity’s long journey from 16th-century anatomy studies to the modern-day pursuit of merging the human body with machines. It highlighted the story of Andreas Vesalius, the “father of modern anatomy,” whose lectures in Padua were once performed before nobles to the sound of live music.

Han Hyo Joo guided the narration with the question, “When did humanity begin to believe that the human body could be replaced by machines?” She shared, “When I read the last page of the script, I felt chills all over my body,” expressing her deep connection to the project.
The series also features MIT professor Hugh Herr, who developed advanced prosthetics after losing his legs, and Dr. Matthew Carty, who studies neural interfaces for amputees.
KBS’s ‘Transhuman’ will continue with Part 2: ‘Brain Implant’ and Part 3: ‘Genetic Revolution’ airing Wednesdays at 10 PM KST.
