BLACKPINK’s Jennie, who continues to make waves as a global solo artist, and aespa, the flagship girl group of K-pop’s fourth generation, are set to attend the Melon Music Awards, a global celebration of artists’ yearly achievements determined by Melon data and fan votes.
Kakao Entertainment’s music platform Melon announced the final lineup for The 17th Melon Music Awards (MMA2025), taking place on Saturday, December 20, at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome, confirming the appearances of Jennie and aespa.
Jennie made a major impact this year with the release of her first full-length solo album, ‘RUBY,’ in March, showcasing her identity and limitless musical potential to the world. In particular, the lead single ‘like JENNIE’ debuted on the Melon TOP100 chart and has remained charted for nine consecutive months, achieving 14 number-one positions on the Melon daily chart, demonstrating her formidable digital music power.
Having had a spectacular year balancing her solo artistry and her career as a member of BLACKPINK, Jennie is expected to electrify Gocheok Dome at MMA2025 with her global influence and commanding stage presence.
aespa, who solidified their status as a leading fourth-generation girl group by scoring seven awards, including the grand prize, at MMA2024 with a triple-hit streak of "Supernova," "Armageddon," and "Whiplash," continue their unstoppable rise this year by expanding their signature sound in new directions.
Their tracks "Dirty Work," showcasing a refined “dirty” edge, and ‘Rich Man,’ amplifying their intense electronic sound, both reached number two on the Melon TOP100 and number one on the HOT100, reaffirming aespa’s unique musical presence.
As a consistently evolving group, fans are eager to see what breathtaking performance aespa will deliver at MMA2025, marking their third consecutive appearance at the awards.
