A shocking case in Seoul has come to light involving a high-ranking executive at a well-known entertainment agency. The man allegedly approached a heavily intoxicated woman under the pretense of taking her home, sexually assaulted her, and then left her on the street, resulting in permanent blindness in one eye.
According to reports, the incident occurred along a busy six-lane road in Gangnam, Seoul. A white SUV approached the woman, who was unable to walk steadily due to her intoxication. Witnesses say the man called her over and placed her in the vehicle, which drove for about 20 minutes before stopping in a commercial alleyway.
Although the suspect denied the assault during the police investigation, surveillance footage from the stationary vehicle—enhanced using artificial intelligence technology—revealed the assault in detail. The footage shows the man seemingly attempting to drag the woman from the passenger seat before leaving her sprawled on the street near a utility pole.
A patrol car appeared shortly afterward, prompting the suspect to shield the woman and act as if she were his acquaintance before departing. At the time, the victim suffered severe facial injuries and was bleeding heavily.
The victim’s family described her condition, saying, "She recently received a disability diagnosis. She doesn’t want to leave the house at all and avoids looking in mirrors."
The woman was discovered by a passerby approximately 90 minutes later and transported to the hospital by police and emergency services. She was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage, skull fractures, and optic nerve damage. Due to delayed treatment, she lost vision in her left eye.
Seoul Seocho Police Station confirmed that the suspect, identified as Go, an executive at a major entertainment agency, has been referred to prosecutors on charges including quasi-forcible sexual assault and negligent injury.
