Baby V.O.X member Lee Hee Jin opened up about her recent health issues, revealing that she has entered a pre-diabetic stage.
On the November 10 episode of MBN’s 'Body Insight', Lee appeared as a guest and underwent a full health check.
“Fans say I look the same, but I actually feel very different,” Lee admitted. “After our concert ended, I suddenly noticed my stamina dropping. My knees hurt, and now that I’m in my mid-40s, I really feel my body changing. When I look at old videos, I miss that time,” she shared.
Lee confessed that she hasn’t been managing her health at all. “I don’t work out, and I eat a lot. I love late-night snacks like fried chicken, pizza, and jokbal, and I’m addicted to sweets like jelly and chocolate. Since I stopped exercising, I gained about 12 kilograms compared to before,” she said.
When asked about her current weight, Lee revealed, “I used to weigh in the 30-kilogram range, but now I’m in the 40s. Because of that sudden gain, my body feels heavy, my movements are stiff, and my knees hurt.”
She went on to explain, “During my last checkup, my cholesterol levels were high, and they even found colon polyps. It made me really anxious about my health. I’ve been taking supplements and trying to maintain myself, but I still worry a lot.”
The medical results shocked both Lee and viewers — despite her slim figure, she was found to have a 65% risk of developing fatty liver within 10 years. “I never imagined I’d have fatty liver. I was worried about things like belly fat or diabetes, but not this. It’s really scary,” she said.
Her doctor explained, “Although she looks thin, she has visceral fat accumulation — a condition known as ‘lean obesity.’ It’s a typical case where chronic inflammation builds up internally, burdening the liver and increasing the risk of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.”
Adding to the concern, Lee’s fasting blood sugar levels showed that she had entered a pre-diabetic stage. The revelation left her visibly shaken as she faced the reality of needing to take better care of her health.
