The film 'Boss' (directed by Ra Hee Chan) has fired the first shot for a box office hit, ranking first in pre-sale tickets a day before its release.

According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated cinema ticketing system, as of 8 PM on October 2, 'Boss' recorded a pre-sale rate of 20.6%, with a total of 129,492 tickets sold in advance.

It surpassed Park Chan Wook’s 'No Other Choice' (19.5%). With the Chuseok holiday approaching, audiences are showing strong interest in the comedy genre of 'Boss,' which the whole family can enjoy.

'Boss' is a comic action film. As the organization prepares to select its next boss, candidates compete by trying to avoid the position to pursue their own dreams.

Jo Woo Jin
, Jung Kyung Ho, and Park Ji Hwan play three loyal members of the organization. Following the death of boss Lee Sung Min (playing Da Su), one of the three must become the new leader.

Jo Woo Jin plays ‘Soon Tae,’ a chef at a Chinese restaurant. Jung Kyung Ho portrays ‘Kang Pyo,’ and Park Ji Hwan plays ‘Pan Ho,’ delivering energetic performances that give the film a fresh take compared to typical gangster stories.

The movie was showcased last month at the 30th Busan International Film Festival, receiving praise from audiences for its lighthearted, cheerful, and harmlessly entertaining content.

'Boss' will be released in theaters on October 3 in Korea.
