The beloved 'Rainbow Taxi Company' ensemble reunited for a table read for the upcoming season of 'Taxi Driver.'
SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama, 'Taxi Driver 3,' released footage from the script reading ahead of its first broadcast on November 21. The original crew of the "Rainbow Taxi Company" - comprising Lee Jae Hoon, Kim Eui Sung, Pyo Ye Jin, Jang Hyuk Jin, and Bae Yoo Ram - gathered for the first time in two years, marking the start of season 3.
'Taxi Driver' is a series based on a webtoon of the same name. The story follows a private taxi company that doubles as a revenge-for-hire vigilante. The veiled taxi company, Rainbow Taxi Company, and its members, including driver Kim Do Gi, take revenge on behalf of wronged victims.
The series is written by Oh Sang Ho and directed by Kang Bo Seung, with production handled by Studio S, Group Eight, and BA Entertainment.
'Taxi Driver' series recorded the 5th highest overall viewership rating (21%) among all domestic terrestrial and cable dramas aired since 2023. Furthermore, last year, it won the Best Drama Series award at the 28th Asian Television Awards (ATA), Asia's most prestigious media awards ceremony. This cemented its reputation as a proven mega-hit IP and a successful example of a Korean-style seasonalized drama.

Table Read conducted using director Kang Bo Seung's special storyboards
The production team attended the script reading, including writer Oh Sang Oh, who established the solid world-building of the 'Taxi Driver' series, and director Kang Bo Seung, who was an assistant director on 'Taxi Driver' Season 1 and co-directed 'Dr. Romantic 3.'
Key cast members, including Lee Jae Hoon (as Kim Do Gi), Kim Eui Sung (as CEO Jang), Pyo Ye Jin (as Go Eun), Jang Hyuk Jin (as Chief Choi), and Bae Yoo Ram (as Chief Park), were present, powerfully revving up the engine for season 3.
The script reading, which took place after a two-year hiatus, was filled with palpable excitement.
From the start, Lee Jae Hoon, Kim Eui Sung, Pyo Ye Jin, Jang Hyuk Jin, and Bae Yoo Ram showcased their perfect chemistry with just a single line of dialogue or a glance, announcing the return of the "Rainbow Five."
The teamwork of the "Rainbow Five," which has been perfected over every season, maximized the diverse entertainment of the show. Expectations for an even more evolved level of "sub-character" play captured the attention of everyone present.

Special Script Reading Format Provided Intense Immersion
The script reading was conducted in a special format where the actors read their lines while viewing storyboards personally drawn by Director Kang Bo Seung, which provided an intense sense of immersion.
This process vividly brought to life the series' refreshing delivery of justice and catharsis through the realization of righteousness, along with explosive action scenes, hinting at a significantly upgraded scale.
It was reported that the spectacular villains, who will be the targets of the "Rainbow Five," also revealed a heavy presence, signaling the birth of a historic season that is expected to trigger a surge of dopamine for viewers this coming year-end.
Lee Jae Hoon shared his thoughts, saying, "I'm so grateful and happy that we can do Season 3. I am proud of our members, who feel like family."
He added, "I think we'll be able to show a story that is even more intense than the previous seasons. I'm also diligently preparing for my more diverse sub-characters. I really want to show them to the viewers quickly. Please look forward to the activities of Kim Do Gi and the Rainbow Taxi team," which further heightened anticipation for the returning 'Taxi Driver 3.'
