Singer Sung Si Kyung has spoken candidly about the recent drop in views on his YouTube channel.
In a video titled “Sung Si Kyung’s What to Eat | Euljiro Incheon House” posted on his YouTube channel Sung Si Kyung on October 29, he said, “In the beginning, I think the channel’s influence was really strong. But honestly, I feel more comfortable now. I’m not BTS — I never understood why my videos were getting 2 to 3 million views. It didn’t feel like it fit me.”
Sung Si Kyung’s YouTube channel, which currently has 2.12 million subscribers, is known for its popular food and conversation content.
He added, “Even when my videos were getting high views, I never got cocky. I actually felt more pressure and worked harder. I’ve always filmed with the same mindset — I pick restaurants where I genuinely enjoy the food and have something to talk about. I’ve never once been paid by any restaurant.”
Sung Si Kyung also addressed complaints from regular customers who say they can’t visit certain restaurants after he features them on his channel. “To the office workers in Euljiro who usually eat here, please understand,” he said with a smile. “I just want to share good food I’ve discovered. And honestly, people only watch 'What to Eat' for about a month — the popularity doesn’t last long. So please bear with me,” he joked, poking fun at himself.
