S.COUPS and MINGYU of SEVENTEEN brought their high-octane debut unit album 'HYPE VIBES' to life during a fan party titled ‘VIBE ALIVE: Chill Moments’ held at Seoul Women’s University on October 5 KST.
The event celebrated the intense, liberating spirit of their first mini-album with a blend of live performances, fan-interactive games, and candid talk sessions. From the opening track, the duo electrified the venue with their title song “5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman)” featuring Lay Bankz, moving freely among the crowd and exchanging high-fives with fans, amplifying the excitement in the room.
SEVENTEEN member SEUNGKWAN made a surprise appearance as special MC, showcasing his close bond with the two artists. “The passion S.COUPS and MINGYU poured into ‘HYPE VIBES’ was beyond even my expectations,” he shared. “I felt proud of the result and volunteered to host this event to support them.”
During the talk session, the duo shared behind-the-scenes stories from the album production, which they personally led. “It was hard to let go of our ambitions,” they confessed. “Even if we regret things later, we wanted to trust ourselves and make the choices we believed in.”
Fans were treated to interactive segments like ‘CARAT POLL’, where S.COUPS and MINGYU predicted fans’ favorite songs for specific moods, and ‘CARAT INSIDE’, diving into fan-submitted thoughts. A real-time ‘ASK & ANSWER’ session added a personal touch to the evening.
As the finale, they premiered live stages of “For you” and “Fiesta”, stepping off the stage to engage with fans directly, receiving roaring cheers and emotional singalongs. “Our journey isn’t over yet,” they told the crowd. “We have more content and surprises to come.”
Since its release on September 29, 'HYPE VIBES' has seen massive success. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Hanteo Daily Album Chart, and within four days, it became the highest first-week sales ever for a K-pop unit album. It also topped Japan’s Oricon Daily Album Ranking and ranked No. 1 on China’s Digital Bestselling Albums daily and weekly charts.
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN is set to continue their group promotions with the 'SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [NEW_] IN U.S.', kicking off on October 11 in Tacoma, followed by shows in Los Angeles (BMO Stadium), Austin (Moody Center), Sunrise (Amerant Bank Arena), and Washington D.C. (Capital One Arena) through the end of the month.
