Seventeen’s special unit, S.Coups x Mingyu, has proven their immense popularity in Japan.

According to Oricon, S.Coups and Mingyu’s first mini album 'HYPE VIBES' sold over 103,000 copies, topping the latest Oricon Weekly Album Chart (dated October 13, tracking from September 29 to October 5). Since its release, the duo has demonstrated a powerful presence on the charts.

The album debuted at No. 1 on Oricon’s Daily Album Chart upon release and held the top spot for three consecutive days. It also claimed No. 1 on iTunes Japan’s Top Album chart.

The title track "5, 4, 3 (Pretty Woman)" ranked high on Line Music’s real-time chart and continues to perform strongly on the daily chart.

The album’s first-week sales surpassed 880,000 copies, setting a new record for the highest first-week sales by a K-pop unit album. It also reached No. 1 in the EP category on China’s QQ Music 'Digital Best-Selling Albums' chart.

The title track topped real-time charts immediately upon release, and all tracks from the album entered Melon’s Top 100 chart, drawing significant attention.

Foreign media have also praised the release. The UK outlet Clash described it as “a song that expresses intense emotions in a direct and modern way,” while NME noted that it “lays the groundwork for a new transformation for S.Coups and Mingyu.”
