Actress Song Ji Hyo opened up about the financial situation of her lingerie brand, revealing a remarkable turnaround after facing near bankruptcy.
During an interview for her upcoming film 'Savior,' held at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on October 23, Song candidly discussed both her acting work and her hands-on involvement in managing her business.
“I plan to visit the office after this interview. It has been a while,” she said with a smile. “Since I personally manage the company, there is a lot I need to take care of. If I do not approve things, the next project cannot move forward.”
Although she does not handle everything herself, Song revealed that she is deeply engaged in the brand’s day-to-day operations. “I participate in more than 80 percent of the work,” she explained. “I am the type who feels satisfied only when I am directly involved in the details. It is a completely different world from acting, which makes me even more focused.”
She also addressed reports about the brand’s early struggles. “In the beginning, I did not do any promotions because I wanted to face reality as it was,” she admitted. “That experience taught me how to market effectively. Things have improved significantly since then. I cannot disclose exact figures, but our sales have increased a lot.”
Song continued, “Sales are doing really well now. There has been a huge improvement, that is for sure. I feel much less pressure these days.”
Emphasizing her genuine commitment to the business, she added, “I am truly sincere about it. There is no front man. I invest my own money and personally oversee production step by step. The process itself is deeply fulfilling. Having a new field to challenge myself in makes me happy, and breaking away from a repetitive routine feels therapeutic.”
Meanwhile, Song Ji Hyo stars in the upcoming mystery occult film Savior, which tells the story of Sun Hee, played by Song, a woman who begins to lose her sight after a tragic accident and endures her suffering through faith until an unexpected miracle transforms her family’s life. The film is set to premiere on November 5.
